this is the first Pierogi Social Club newsletter! How exciting!!!

We’ve intended to start a newsletter for a long time now, a place for us to share upcoming PSC events with you directly, give you BTS insights, but also to share event tips from other communities with you!

We love that we are not the only ones in town who bring more of Poland to Berlin, so we’ll make sure you won’t miss out on other cool Poland-related events, especially when it includes food! At the same time, we also really value anyone, who builds wholesome communities or food events, so we will also make sure to look left and right and see who else in town is doing fun stuff, that you might like, beyond the Polish things.

Upcoming PSC Events

​Have you missed us? We certainly missed all of you! Summer break is coming to an end, so it is finally time to hang out again with your favorite pierogi-loving folks here in Berlin!

• 5th September 2026: Our event to open the next season, right before summer ends: COMMUNITY PICNIC, one last outdoor hangout <3 SAVE YOUR SPOT HERE!

• 17th of September: Save the Date: We will do another Polish Wine Tasting with Grape & Grono at The Social Hub Berlin. Perfect mix of discovering new wines from different Polish wine-making regions while making some new connections. Ticket link will follow in the next newsletter.

PSC Events Picks

While you wait for us to be back, maybe take a look at these things, we look forward to them a lot:

• Berlin-Warsaw 35 years of city partnership program: To celebrate this milestone, you can visit a special event program including outdoor concerts, exhibitions, cinema & more, focusing on the connections of Berlin & Warsaw! Maybe you have already spotted bears and mermaids within the campaign “Näher, als du denkst | Bliżej, niż myślisz” around town? <3 Our favorite pick: the outdoor Chopin concerts (yes, like in Łazienki park 🥹) like on 30th of August.

• Save the Date: filmPOLSKA: If you are a film lover you simply cannot, we repeat YOU CANNOT!!!! miss this one! Berlin has its own Polish film festival, organized by the Polish Institute in Berlin. One week of new Polish movies all over Berlin’s cinemas. Plus: an extensive retrospective, shedding light on - among others - Wajda’s work. Mark your calendars for 09th - 16th of September > more infos & full program here! The festival includes a three-day filmmaking workshop COMPLETELY FOR FREE by filmPOLSKA & the Konrad Wolf film school with director Agnieszka Smoczyńska. Registration is open until 20th of August.

• 22.08.2026: Khinkali and Georgian Natural Wines Pop Up by Dzira & Saamuri: because we know we all love dumplings (obviously), why not go for Georgian ones until pierogi are back?

• 29.08.2026 Späti Stories book swap at Kino International: A movie-themed book swap at the Panorama Bar at Kino International, on a Saturday morning, with coffee and popcorn, by our wonderful friends from Späti Stories together with the Yorck Cinemas. Highly recommend <3

• 30.08.2026: Into The Red’s Cinema Table: An event that combines the best of both worlds: film screenings with shared dinner. Word has it that the next edition has a focus on Poland 🤭 It’s not public yet, but we will keep you posted about the event in our community WhatsApp channel (respond WhatsApp to this email to get the link).

• New Paweł Pawlikowski film Fatherland is airing in German cinemas on 3rd of September! A black and white drama about Thomas Mann and his daughter, who travel across post-war divided Germany. First screening will be already on 27th of August in ARTE Sommerkino!

Good to know

• The exhibition BEDROHUNG / ZAGROŻENIE / MENACE in Zitadelle Spandau is coming to an end next week. Last chance to see this powerful German-Polish group show exploring how artists on both sides of the border respond to the threats shaping our times, from the personal to the political.

• PSC started a TikTok account! Our team-member wonderful Aglaia is posting there for us, seeing if we can keep up with the trends of the internet 😛 if you want to be part of that, come this way!
